The Compassionate Leader
Compassion is a life changing force. Compassion in organizations is transformational in every way. When leaders demonstrate compassion-oriented actions the collective capacity of the organization flourishes – the individuals, the teams, the customer, and the stakeholders.
Through in-depth, semi-structured interviews, this study examined those behaviors that enabled the condition for compassionate-based experiences to emerge in an organization through specific leadership behaviors. As a secondary lens, this research also focused on the predictable practices used by the leader that contributed to more compassion being experienced throughout an organization. Findings demonstrated the relational connection between compassion-oriented behaviors and increased organizational capacity.
